STERILIZED ROCK STAR NEWS

> NO-FI "MAGAZINE" sends our regrets to the friends and family of the three girls, Mykel, Trysta, and Carli, who were the leaders of the that dog. fanclub. They were killed in a car accident and will be missed lots. A benefit concert was held for their family last month featuring sets by WEEZER (featuring Matt Sharp back on the bass) and that dog.. During the encore, The girls' family came out and said a few words. After which, Rivers came out and sang a new little acoustic song he wrote for the girls. Then WEEZER finished up the rest of the night. The money from the benifit will go to paying expenses and sending the girls' nephews to college. Great show! Sad Reason.

> The Mighty Quin (Formally of QUIN95) has begun a new solo project presently titled THE FILM VERSION. This may or may not be picked up by Spiffy Records.

> Small's (In Hollywood) is now under new owners and will undergo a name change and will no longer have shows.

> VLA are starting to play more shows again. Lead singer John Grip used the time off to pursue his acting career and star in a play called "Hasty Heart" which played at the Glendale Center Theatre. By the way, did any of you see CONTACT? Big plug for VLA in there. I wanna get one of those cool VLA shirts!

> The No-Fi 4th Annual Pre-Halloween Show is in the works. So far bands that are playing are SIX VOLT SUNBEAM, VLA, MENTHOL HILL, POPULAR GIRL, BOB, F.U.B.A.R., GYMICRAE, TRIPLE CHIN, Tom Whaling, and BLADDER BLADDER BLADDER. More bands may be added and the show will probably be split into two nights and one of the shows will definitely be held at Sacred Grounds in San Pedro on Sat. October 25th (Thanks Liz!!!). Hope to see you there!

> FERDINAND have a new album coming out this month! So, save up the change!

> last issue I forgot to give extra-special thanks to Peter of TRIPLE CHIN who helped me get some stuff done for the NO-FI "MAGAZINE" website. You should buy their 12" album (from when they were called COMBO SLAB) "Before Six Beers, After Six Beers" for the low price of 11 bucks at 825 Superba Avenue, Venice, CA 90291 and I'm sure they'll be happy. (And it's a good album too!!!) Look forward to an interview with them in a NO-FI "MAGAZINE" within the next few months!

> NO-FI "MAGAZINE" is searching for "dedicated" people who have some time to intern for NO-FI "MAGAZINE" (going to shows, doing reviews, writing articles, doing some artwork, possibly doing interviews, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc). Chris Beyond and Elrod have been pretty busy working their "straight" jobs and need some really neat-o people to help out with this and their new magazine (coming soon to a magazine rack near you) [Name Withheld in case we still do this]. If you think you have time do do anything (we understand the human race is pretty busy doing odd things here and there) then please write us at the address(es) above. Only factor is that you like music ('specially the type of music from the bands we feature in these pages) and don't have any hang-ups about stuff. No racists or evil-doers. Just some kick-back individuals who wanna show off their stuff and help out. Ok?

2007 Update:

In the last issue's update I couldn't remember barely anything about the club Small's and now I know why. Because they closed right after that.
