NO-FI "RADIO" Episode #1 hosted by Chris Beyond February 4, 2002 This was the very first episode of No-Fi "Radio" to be posted "on the air" and technically, it was our worst in that it was plagued by bad level settings. The host segments recorded on the floor in front of Chris Beyond's stereo in Silverlake were very VERY quiet compared to the music segments which in themselves varied from track to track. Oddly, this wasn't the first show we recorded for we had already started working on the Valentines Day Special for the next week's show. Being that we were starting from scratch after a long absence from producing the magazine, we felt that this would be the best way to make the transition to a mostly all-online version of No-Fi "Magazine" so we established that Quin would basically run 3 out of 4 or 5 shows a month (he's had college radio experience) and Chris would do a show or two a month once everything started settling in. Quin & Chris began recording this show the week before Chris recorded the 1st episode to be put "on the air" and it was the Valentines special being that it was the week of Valentines Day. It was recorded in Quin's bedroom/studio and was completed the weekend before it was posted. During the show we talked about Request Video (and old music video show out of Orange County), gave a shout out from no-fi "pal" Laurie Wilson, and making sweet prison love. PLAYLIST:

Cb- We recorded this episode in Kelly's apartment in Pasadena on my 4-track recorder in order to experiment with fading from one song to another. It was ok, but I think I prefer using the taper recorder Kelly donated to the magazine that we use for interviews and recording llive concerts for personal use. PLAYLIST:

Cb- Kelly and I recorded the host segments for this show at the actual Disneyland while waiting in line or in actual rides at the park. As of the 17th episode, it's still my favorite episode of them all since it pretty much sums up how I'd like the show to be, unbound and without too many standard radio rules. PLAYLIST:
