NO-FI "RADIO" Episode #9
hosted by No-Fi "Magazine"
April 1, 2002
This was the April Fools edition of NO-FI "RADIO" which is an "old time radio drama" recreation of the entire 1984 film "Purple Rain" starring Quin as "The Kid" and "The Announcer", Kelly Jensen as Apollonia and "Morris's Sexy On The Side", Chris Beyond as Morris and Jill, Rob Hondrick as Jerome and "Mom", David-1X as "Dad", Brandon Huff as Billy and "Generic Bandmember", Holly-Tron as Wendy, Jenny Lang as Lisa, Phil Aja as "The Doctor". All lyrics and music ©2002 Prince Roger Nelson, Story ©2002 Warner Brothers. This was an April Fools joke and no rights were implied to No-Fi "Magazine".
NOTES ON THS SHOW: This was our first "over-the-top" show for No-Fi "Radio". We planned it a few weeks in advance and gave no indication that we were going to do anything other than a regular show. We really only had a week of production on this one with a little bit of pre-production and some very very last minute post-mixing. We used midi files for most of the music except for background ambient music culled from many of our friend's bands. Most of the recording itself took place in Quin's bedroom/studio in Redondo Beach with some people recorded in Silverlkake and the last of the songs recorded back in Redondo Beach. Kelly HATES the movie Purple Rain (for it's mysoginistic themes that just aren't dealt with the way they should've been) and didn't really enjoy her part in this production, but went along with it anyway (whichwas really nice of her). Anyway, we hope you enoyed it (if you even got to hear it)!
One last quick note... the "creepy untitled backwards song" at the end was not in the movie, but on the Purple Rain album at the end of the 1st side. When I was a little kid, I played it backwards on the turntable and the lyrics are "Hello. How Are You? I'm fine...cuz I know that the lord is coming sooooOOOoooooooon. Coming...coming sooooOOOOooooOOOOooOOoOooon. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" We recorded it forwards and I added some sound effects from "Chilling Thrilling Sounds Of The Haunted House" and played it forwards. I love my four-track!

NO-FI "RADIO" Episode #10 - (The Lost Show?)
hosted by Quin
April 7, 2002
The 10th(!!!) Episode of No-Fi "Radio" finds host Quin in Torrance Bedroom/Studio and special guest Chris Beyond trying to figure out if the new iMac was made as part of a plot to destroy man via bugs, conflicts, and corruption...in the computer sense. (BTW, we mention the KaitO appearance on the next show (the 15th), BUT their live appearance was pushed back until April 22nd show - two weeks from now. Sorry for the confusion.) This may be the lost show because our CD backup of the show is screwed up due to the CD label being applied to the wrong side of the CD. It was peeled off and applied to the correct side, but this CD now skips and trips whenever put into a CD player. It mostly affects the begining and towards the ending which still sucks. Hopefully I can recover the disc in the near future.
